SNOOZE THE SHEEP
"I know a nap sounds icky, yuck, blah and boring too. But, you need your rest to feel your best. It's something you must do."
-Snooze the sheep
Meet the Author and Illustrator: Brandi Russell
Snooze is Brandi's big debut. What began as an impromptu nap-time game to get her toddlers to go to sleep slowly blossomed into a children's book. She's currently working on several other books and projects aimed at infusing fun into children's routines. Stay tuned to see what Snooze the Sheep and his farm friends are up to next!
A magical sheep has just flown in from The Sleepy Sheep Farm. His name is Snooze and his mission is to transform a not-so-happy nap-time into a fun adventure. How? Snooze checks on children during nap-time to make sure they are catching their daily Zs. Children who are sleeping soundly when Snooze flies by will awaken to a trail of Snooze Clues leading them to a hidden surprise. Get ready to hear your child squeal with delight when you say, “Snooze is on his way…it’s time to hit the hay.”
This story, written in verse, contains all the ingredients to transform any child’s nap routine into a fun adventure. A fun-loving flying sheep…Sleepy-Zs…Snooze Clues…and a hidden surprise to find. At the end of this short book, children will be begging to take a nap!
As seen on:
Q: What is Snooze's middle name?
A: The "E" in Snooze E. Sheep stands for Everest--the name of Snooze's great-great-grandfather who initiated the first sheep fence-jumping movement in 1832.
Q: What is Snooze's favorite food?
A: Snooze is a big fan of sleep-inducing foods. His very favorite meal is a big turkey sandwich on wheat bread with a nice warm cup of chamomile tea.
Q: When does Snooze sleep?
A: Snooze is napturnal which means he catches his Z's when children are awake! Snooze knows that sleep is very important in order for him to stay happy and healthy and feeling his best. So, he takes long naps and makes sure to get at least 8-hours of sleep every day.
Q: Does Snooze come to my house EVERY single time I go to sleep?
A: Snooze's Sleepy Sheep Farm is equipped with highly sophisticated Sleepy-Z tracking technology to monitor the sleep habits of the 24 million infants, toddlers and preschoolers all around the world. He is quite magical, but he would be very tired if he visited every child everyday. So, he makes house calls only on days when his radar shows that your Sleepy-Z production is low.
Q: What kind of surprise is Snooze going to hide for me?
A: Snooze is creative and he is crafty and loves to make children smile and laugh. The best part about a visit from Snooze is that you never know what he will do or what he will leave for you to find. Sometimes, Snooze will leave you a little treat like a lollipop or a freshly baked cookie. If he is feeling silly, he might play a prank (like fill your living room with balloons). Or, he might leave a special golden ticket for a "Free Pass to go to the Park". He has lots of fun ideas up his wooly-sleeves, so make sure you take a nice long rest. You wouldn't want to wake-up before Snooze has completed his magical surprise!
Q: What does Snooze like to do for fun?
A: Snooze loves games...especially watching game shows on T.V. He also enjoys country music, catching butterflies, counting stars, and taking naps in odd places...After all, it's always a good time for a nap!
